Good bye October and Hello November!
First let me say, I totally wanted to jump on a broom and fly around during this shoot. I felt like a beautiful witch and wanted to be the 4th Sanderson sister.
But they already have a Sarah. So dang.
Valerie Ott Photography and I thought it’d be great fun to play with the dark side, and this is the creation we came up with. Most the time I am limited to the lighter more natural side of makeup so we thought it would be fun to do some MOODY creative makeup. Concentrating more on the darker more dramatic side.
I used a Number of different products to get this look but the best came from Colourpop Cosmetics. The Lips are Colourpops Ultra Matte Lip in Zipper, and the inner corner of my eye and the tail end of my brow is Colourpops eyeshadow pigment in Coconut.
For my dark contour I used the Urban Decay Electric Palette and my angled contour brush and just feathered it around my temples and below my cheek bone.
Hey… how do you like my hair?
I haven’t used extensions before and I am so glad I tried it out for this shoot. I don’t think Ill never not want to use extensions ever again. They are more fun then you know!
For this look I just added the hair into the two braids as I braided them. Sounds easy right? Not. But it turned out great with the help of extra hands.
I have to say thank you to the awesome stylist ay Kalis Beauty Supply for helping pick out the right hair also. I admit I did kind of go in there blind. I had this vision of having long thick textured hair but I defiantly didn’t want to look like Hagrid. Thankfully I had a lot of options with Kalis. They have lots of different types of hair and defiantly people there who know which direction to go in so you don’t turnout like Hagrid.
and um, I hope you know who I am talking about. If you hadn’t seen Harry Potter we CANNOT be friends.
Can I say how sad I am that October is over? Let me just say I have gotten into the habit of thinking, planning, and executing fun full face and body painting that now I don’t want to stop. I might just have to do all the dramatics all year round.
I hope you all had a great October, and enjoy this Monday blog.
Thank you Valerie Ott for always being willing to have a little fun. I love that you came up with this idea and let me be creative in it. I cant wait for what is to come this next year!
