Lets just say for one moment we lived in a world where it was totally ok to walk around with a fully painted face/body any day of the week and not be looked at like your insane. Thats the world I have to remind my self I don’t live in. But during the month of October I can actually live in that world every day! I find that some look at Halloween and the month of October as the devils holiday, but I look at it as the month for bringing extreme creativity to its highest level.
My goal is to bring to you my highest level of creativity and inspire you to bring out yours.
I celebrate this 3rd of October with my first Halloween skull of the month.
To get this look I started with a base foundation. I like to use Kat Von D Lock it foundation with her Lock It primer. I made sure to massage it into my face really well to get a smooth over all finish. Once completed I started picking out colors I wanted to use to get the right look. I pulled out my Morphe 35B palette, the Urban Decay Electric palette, and Anastasia Beverly Hills Gleam highlighter palette.
I started with my temples and blended around my forehead just sort of mapping out where I wanted the color to go. Then I went to my cheekbones, I really wanted them to stand out so I started with a hot pink and blended that right under my cheekbone. Eventually adding some darker pink and purple to thin and darken my face. Achieving the sunken in look.
After blending, and blending some more I started to add a little highlight to my cheekbones. Ha, who am I kidding? I mean I started to add a TON of highlighter to my cheekbones! The more shine the bigger the star thats what I say!
Anastasia Beverly Hill has become my best friend! If you haven’t used the highlighter palattes before then you just aren’t living! Not to mention Jeffree Star cosmetics and his highlighters. He proudly carries a fully vegan line of makeup. Which brings me to the subject of vegan products and life. I personnel am not Vegan, however my best friend is and I must appreciate the effort it takes daily to live that lifestyle.
Some of my favorite Vegan Cosmetic lines include, Urban Decay, Kat Von D Beauty, Jeffree Star Cosmetics, Two-faced, Tarte, Buxom, Lime Crime, Sugarpill, BH Cosmetics, ELF, NYX, and Anastasia. Those are just a few. If you have the time you should really look into the benefits of using Vegan-Cruelty free makeup lines.
Just a few benefits of using these safe lines include, having less artificial ingredients added into the makeup and onto your face, you’re supporting a stance that using animals to test on is wrong and who doesn’t approve of that?
So now I move to my eyes, I started them with the same shadow I used to line the contours of my face. I made sure to darken the under eye with a Morphe Brushes crease brush. I darkened the under eye more then I did the top of my eye to make the sunken in eye just right with out making my self look creepy. I then added my signature cat eye with Tartes Precision long wear liquid liner.
To finish the look I added some teeth, some pretty pink teeth. this Halloween makeup look wouldn’t be complete with out a nice wispy pair of Ardell lashes. Never can you ever go wrong with lashes!
And there you have it! My Halloween calavera for the kick off of October!
I hope you love it and PLEASE check in next week for another Makeup Monday.
