Madison and Christians elopement in Marquette was nothing short of incredible. Before meeting this darling couple I never imagined elopements to be magical. I guess I had this notion that they were taking the quicker route. I imagined something like going to Vegas and going through the drive thru chapel. But these two had something so much better in mind.
This most amazing couple decided to take their story to Presque Isle Park in Marquette Michigan.
Now something this far from home required a little bit of a team so to speak. Madison and Christian decided to hire Kayla from The Lost Forty.
You see, I learned that I had the whole idea of elopements totally backwards. Madison and Christian showed me that creating a small intimate ceremony in a location that holds just as much magic as they do was just the perfect recipe for adventure. Let me give you a little glimpse into the day.
Let’s talk makeup and hair for a sec. When it came to finding the perfect look a few things had to be taken into account. Having an elopement in Marquette meant needing to be able to go with Northern Michigan weather.
Madison wanted a romantic detailed updo but with out the hassle of having hair flying in her face. So, together we created a look that gave her the romantic flowy feel without the fly always in her face. Next was the makeup. Lucky for me Madison had the most perfectly soft skin with little to no blemishes. It was an easy job of accentuating her natural beauty. She wanted a soft contour of the face and a natural lash to pull it all in.
When it came to makeup Madison really wanted a natural yet defined look. She didn’t want to look too done up but she wanted to be able to see her makeup. We really had a great time talking makeup and together, creating the perfect look for her day.
The way everything came together for Madison and Christian just seemed to be so seem less. I’ve come to realize how amazing elopements are. You get the same excitement as a full blown wedding, but you get to savor the moments that mean the most in such a delicate deep way. Photos credits go to the amazing, Nichole Leanne Photography.
