So you’ve just gotten engaged, you are looking at the beautiful ring on your finger and the emotions on your fiancés face, and your trying to process all that just happened and what that means for the future. But usually after that soaks in you start thinking of all of the dreams, details, and ideas of how you would want your special day. Whats the FIRST thing that you think of? THE DRESS! The dress is always #1. But what comes after the dress? Usually it is the cake, or who your maid of honor is going to be, or who will fight over being the maid of honor, the venue, the date, the list goes on and on. But at what point does a bride think of makeup and hair?
This is a crucial part of your special day and it seems it is one of the last things on a brides list. Now don’t get me wrong, some of you ladies really have this down and this is on the top of your list. But for many others it isn’t super important right away. I need to tell you how important this detail of your most special day is!
First I must say, if you have naturally exceptional makeup skills by all means do your makeup yourself. But consider this. How many other things are you going to be worrying about that day? Hopefully not that many, but wouldn’t it be less stressful to know that when it comes to your marital makeup nothing will be forgotten or missed? Hiring a professional makeup artist will give you that security. The security of knowing you will looks flawless, radiant, and happy.
I know most ladies have a certain way they like to have their makeup done and there is a fear that the professional won’t make you look like you. That is why a trial is most important! Most brides have a trial for the sort of hair they want, this is just as important for makeup. It helps your professional know what to expect and know what you expect and if any change needs to happen this trial gives time for those changes to be made.
Heres another thought. 15 years pass after your wedding day and you decide to pull out you’re wedding album. What do you want to see? This is a very important thing to ask yourself, in my opinion. The worst thing is to look back and cringe. I wish every bride to be able to look back and say, “That was me, and I was gorgeous!” Makeup has a seriously huge part in making sure you can say that in 15 years. Normal every day makeup is just not going to cut it on your special day. Makeup should be applied slightly heavier then a normal day to ensure that from a distance and in pictures you seem flawless.
Let me ask you this, when your car breaks down you take it to the mechanic right? Well of course, they have the tools and the knowledge on how to fix it and fix it right.
Same thing applies with hiring a professional makeup artist for this big day! They have the knowledge on how to get the best look for you and your bridal party. How to make you radiant and near perfection, how to make mom and grandma look younger, and maybe even help dad hide the accidental scratch on his face. Not to mention the tools to get the job done and done right.
Lastly and most importantly. YOU ARE WORTH IT! You are worth the extra money and effort of finding an artist who specializes in wedding makeup, and or makeup for photography. Don’t leave this specific detail last, add it right next to the dress and Maid of honor.
Remember you are the muse of that day. You want to look and feel as though.
